Peter is born and raised in Nanaimo. He started as a volunteer. Under his leadership Loaves & Fishes has grown from a small food bank to one of the premier charities in B.C. 

When he isn't at work, Peter can be found spending time with his wife and 2 young boys. He also enjoys working on his small farm and racing his mountain bike.

Alexis originally from Ontario. He manages and coordinates all drivers and warehouse staff as well as the scheduling of food recovery pickup and delivery. He also ensures the warehouse is running smoothly and the food is brought to our clients through our depots in good condition and on time. All warehouse operations rely on Alex.

When Alex isn't working at Loaves and Fishes he enjoys hiking with his wife, kids and dog. He is a long time fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Abby is in charge of fundraising initiatives, grants, events, social media, marketing and public relations. She also facilitates 3rd Party Events in the community. 

When she isn't working, Abby can be found camping with her husband and 3 daughters. She also loves traveling and being outdoors as much as possible.

Nicole is originally from Nanaimo. She is in charge of all things office and data related. Nicole supports all other departments to help keep them running smoothly. She has a husband and two young sons. When she isn't working, she likes to spend time with her family.

Dave is originally from Port Alberni and started as a volunteer. He coordinates and supervises all free food market openings at the Farquhar Street free food market in addition to supporting the work of our other locations. Dave is available to help with client relations and keeps the other staff informed of the needs of our clients. 

Dave has a wife and 2 grown boys. He enjoys playing basketball and guitar as well as exploring local parks with his wife.

Don is originally from Nanaimo. He supervises the warehouse crew to facilitate the incoming food being sorted, stored and then delivered to the free food markets and other organizations with maximum efficiency. In his free time Don enjoys sports, hiking and spending time with his grandchildren.

Kate was born in England and has lived in Nanaimo since she was 9. Kate manages, trains and schedules all volunteers. Her background experience is in corporate wellbeing and fitness. In her free time Kate likes to explore local trails with her family.

Josh was born and raised on Vancouver Island. He works to ensure that Loaves & Fishes operations in the north island run smoothly. He manages the incoming and outgoing food through the Loaves & Fishes Harvest building in Port Hardy. Additionally he works with Loaves & Fishes community partners in the area to ensure an abundance of food is available in Port Hardy and the surrounding communities. In his free time Josh enjoys spending time with his daughter and playing video games.

Joel is originally from Nanaimo. He supervises the needs and relationships of the other organizations we serve. He also helps out in general at the warehouse and food distribution. In his free time, Joel enjoys playing all kinds of sports, especially volleyball.

Emily is originally from Nanaimo. She connects with people in the office, over the phone and through Loaves & Fishes emails. She answers questions and assists in general office duties. In her free time, time Emily enjoys hiking, reading and volunteering with her church.

Michèle started as a volunteer in 2017. She works part time assisting with welcoming, communication, coordination and scheduling of volunteers. In her free time, Michèle enjoys a good game of tennis and practicing her languages by travelling far and wide. 

Angela grew up in Nanaimo. She is in charge of helping to ensure our free food market runs smoothly by managing volunteers and operations on site. In her free time, Angela enjoys paddle boarding in her free time.

Jeff drives for our Food Recovery Program and assists with warehouse loading and operations. He helps to make sure the food is picked up from our grocery partners and the sorted food gets to the free food markets on time. He also does general maintenance of the warehouse and equipment. 

In his free time, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 young boys. He also has a small bike shop where he builds bikes.

Wiseman is originally from South Africa and has lived in Nanaimo for 14 years. He works in the warehouse as a driver to collect, sort and distribute food. In his free time Wiseman enjoys exercising.

Ryan works in the warehouse and as a driver. He collects, sorts and organizes food to help make sure it gets to the free food markets on time. When he isn't at work, Ryan enjoys swimming.

Dan is originally from Victoria. He works in the warehouse sorting and packing food for our distribution free food markets. He also drives the trucks to collect food from our grocery partners. When Dan isn't working he likes gardening and working on his vehicles.

Igor is originally from Kiev, Ukraine. He works in the warehouse sorting and storing food. He also drives the trucks collecting and distributing food at the free food markets. In his free time he enjoys going to the beach with his family and spending time with them at the local recreation centers.

Neil is originally from West Vancouver. He works in the warehouse helping to make sure food is sorted, stored and distributed. In his free time he enjoys fly fishing and placer mining.

Ryan is originally from Quesnel. He works in the warehouse helping to sort and store food as well as driving Loaves & Fishes trucks. When Ryan isn't working he enjoys exploring Vancouver Island and spending time with his cats. (Ryan is Abby's brother in law)

Ehsan is originally from Syria where he worked as a Civil Engineer. He works in our warehouse sorting and storing food. Ehsan has a lovely wife and 4 children. For fun he enjoys playing basketball.

Hamza is originally from Syria and moved to Nanaimo with his family 2019. He works with moving and storing food in the warehouse as well as washing bins. Hamza is a high school student. In his free time he likes to play soccer.

David was born in Ontario and grew up in Nanaimo. He works with general duties in the warehouse sorting, moving and sorting food. In his spare time David really enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and woodworking.

Lisa is originally from the Yukon and Nelson. She works in our warehouse sorting and organizing food to help make sure it comes and goes on time.

In her free time she likes being outdoors 4 wheeling.

Mike is originally from Saskatchewan. He works in the warehouse sorting and storing food. He also assists in the free food markets. In his spare time Mike enjoys playing board games.

Stenson works as a driver and warehouse crew on call when we need extra help. Currently he works as a full time Machinist at Harmac Pacific fixing and manufacturing components to keep the mill running smoothly. In his spare time Stenson likes giving back to the community so he volunteers teaching elderly people the joys of mountain biking.

Cathy is originally from Langley and has worked at the Harvest Building in Port Hardy since 2019, prior to Loaves & Fishes taking over operations there. She assists Josh in the thrift store and helps with the food program as well. In her free time, Cathy likes visiting with her family.

Mary started as a volunteer. She is in charge of keeping the Farquhar Street free food market and warehouse clean.

When Mary isn't working she likes collecting recycling bottles. She also enjoys movies and seeing her grown up children.

Shelby is originally from Nanaimo. He works at the Empties 4 Food sorting site making sure the donated bottles and cans from our social enterprise are sorted and ready to collect the deposits. In his free time, Shelby like working on cars, especially his 1987 Chrysler Daytona.
